Describe your best photo:
My best photo is most likely the 6th photo. It has shells of some chestnuts stacked along the the side of a rock wall near my house. The chestnuts are within the first third of the photo if looking from left to right. The photo does appear to be darker which could be because there a quite a lot of shade because of the overhanging trees.
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
The shot was taken around 1-2 feet from the subject
What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...)
The phot was taken at a slight angle above the rock
Is your photograph horizontal or vertical?
horizontal
Does this photo follow the rule of thirds?
Yes, the chestnuts are stacked in the first third of the photo looking from left to right
Why or why not? (Describe). Is this photo an example of pattern, texture and/or rhythm? Explain.
This is an example of texture a a little bit of pattern. The texture may appear in the roughness and smoothness of the rock and the pattern may appear in the way the chestnuts were stacked.
Proper Exposure:
In changing your photos to black and white, we have adjusted the levels in your photos with consideration of the highlights, midtones and shadows.
Examine your photos and answer the following questions:
Which image may be overexposed? (too bright) Why? Which area/areas is/are too bright?
The ht photo was too overexposed so i had to crop it severely. In the top right corner there was a white object (pool ladder?) which caused an over expose and led to loss of detail. I should have moved it away so the backround would just be the wall of the house
Which image is underexposed? (too dark) Which area/areas is/are too dark?
The 6th image is a little bit dark because i took it in an area where the trees were not letting a lot of light onto the subject matter.
Which image is the best example of a properly exposed photo? Explain why
